Visage, Real time video streaming and analysis

Dr. Gabor Terstyanszky is a Reader in Distributed and Parallel Computing at the Cavendish School of Computer Science. He received his MSc degree in Electronic Engineering from the Electrotechnical University of Saint Petersburg, Russia in 1977. He obtained a MPhil degree from the University of Miskolc in 1990.  He received his PhD degree from Technical University of Budapest and University of Miskolc in 1997. He is a part-time Principal Lecturer at the University of Miskolc.

His research interests include distributed and parallel computing, cluster and Grid computing. He is involved in both research and teaching distributed and parallel systems, such as Grid computing and Web services. He had several research grants at various universities of Germany, Spain, and United Kingdom.
He published three electronic lecture notes on distributed and parallel computing and more than 75 papers at European and world conferences and workshops and in journals. He was member of programming committees of several conferences and workshops, for example: DAPSYS, EuroMicro, SAFEPROCESS. He supervised  several COPERNICUS, COST and 4., 5. and 6. FRAMEWORK research projects as local project co-ordinator, such as WINPAR (Windows-Based Parallel Computing), HPCTI (High-Performance Computing Tools for Industry) and SEPP (Software Engineering for Parallel Processing), CoreGrid (European Research Network on Foundations, Software Infrastructures and Applications for Large-Scale Distributed, Grid and P2P Technologies Network of Excellence project and ePerSpace (Towards the Era of Personalisation at Home and Everywhere) Integrated Research project.  He contributed to the design and development of Grid Execution Management for Legacy Code Architecture (GEMLCA) with the research team of the Centre of Parallel Computing.
